Aaron Rodgers suffered collarbone fracture during Bears game
GREEN BAY (WITI) -- Initial tests show that Aaron Rodgers suffered a small collarbone fracture during Monday night's game against the Bears. Rodgers suffered the injury after being sacked on third down by Bears defensive end Shea McClellin.
During an interview with 540 ESPN, Rodgers said it's hard to gauge how long it will take him to heal. As Rodgers recounted the incident, he referred to the tackle as a "forceful throw-down" that left him in "considerable pain."
Following the drive, Rodgers jogged off the field to be further examined. While in the locker room, Rodgers says his first thought was to play through the pain, but after taking a few snaps, he realized he was in too much pain to return.
When Rodgers returned to the football field, the sold-out Lambeau crowd gave him a standing ovation. In the ESPN interview, Rodgers said that moment was one of the top five in his football career.
Rodgers says he will undergo more tests on Tuesday, November 5th and says he'll know more about the severity of his injury and a timeline for his return later this week.
At this time, Rodgers says it's a waiting game and claims we need to have faith in the "next man up mentality."
