ROSEMONT, ILLINOIS (WITI) -- Shane Harper scored two goals to lead the Chicago Wolves past the Admirals Sunday afternoon, March 1st.
Wolves goalie Jordan Binnington stopped 10 shots in the third period and 21 in the game to improve to 4-0 against the Admirals this season.
The loss extends Milwaukee’s winless skid to five games (0-4-1-0).
Chicago scored the first goal of the game at 5:03 of the opening period. Adam Burish was able to bury a Ty Rattie rebound into the net for his ninth goal of the season.
The Admirals tied the game with a power play goal just 40 seconds into the second period. Taylor Aronson passed the puck from the right point to the left circle. Viktor Arvidsson then passed to the right circle for a one-timer from Viktor Stalberg. The shot hit the post but ricocheted off the goalie into the net. It was Stalberg’s eighth goal of the season, third on the power play.
Chicago took the lead for good on the first of two Harper goals at 8:26 of the second period. He scored his second of the game at 12:39 of the second period to make it 3-1. The goals were the 24th and 25th of the season for Harper.
Yannick Veilleux closed the scoring for the Wolves with a deflection that found the back of the net with 56 seconds left in the second period.
Milwaukee’s starting goalie, Magnus Hellberg, stopped 17 of 21 shots in two periods. Marek Mazanec relieved Hellberg and stopped all nine shots he faced in the third period.
The Admirals travel to Cleveland to face the Lake Erie Monsters Wednesday night. Milwaukee returns to the BMO Harris Bradley Center to host Grand Rapids Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
