Admirals season comes to an end with 4-1 loss to Grand Rapids Griffins
MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Admirals saw their season come to an end at the hands of the Grand Rapids Griffins Tuesday night, April 26th -- dropping a 4-1 decision in game three of the Central Division Semifinals.
According to a statement from the Admirals, the Griffins scored four unanswered goals, including their first two via replay, to give Milwaukee their seventh straight post-season loss, a streak that dates back to 2013.
It was also the 14th straight playoff game that the Ads scored two or fewer goals.
Adam Payerl got the Ads lone tally with just 1:14 left in the first period on his first goal of the post-season. Yakov Trenin made a great move to the Grand Rapids net. His shot was stopped by Tom McCollum, but Payerl jumped on the rebound and crammed it home.
It was all downhill from there as Grand Rapids scored three in the second and added a breakaway goal in the third to send them on to the second round where they will face the Lake Erie Monsters.
