Admirals take on Peoria Rivermen Friday and Saturday
After posting an 8-3 home victory in coach Ian Herbers’ debut against Abbotsford Tuesday night, Milwaukee (18 Games Played, 11-6-0-1, 23 Points, 2 Place Midwest Division, 6 Place <runtime:topic id="ORSPT000000307">Western Conference</runtime:topic>, 13 Place <runtime:topic id="ORSPT000478">AHL</runtime:topic>) will begin the month of December with a home-and-home series with the <runtime:topic id="ORSPT000518">Peoria Rivermen</runtime:topic> (22 GP, 3 Place Midwest Division, 8 place Western Conference, 18 place AHL). Faceoff Friday night is set for 7:00 P.M. at the Bradley Center and Saturday night at Carver Arena in Peoria, Illinois (10,129 capacity) at the same starting time.
This will be Milwaukee's third and fourth meetings of the season with their Midwest Division rivals, with the <runtime:topic id="ORSPT000496">Admirals</runtime:topic> winning the previous two contests both held at Peoria, including the season opener on October 8th (4-1) and a 2-1 decision on November 5th.Recently recalled Kyle Wilson (Oakville, Ontario) scored the game winner on a power play at 1:07 of the third period in the team's previous meeting, while goaltender <runtime:topic id="PESPT0014732">Jeremy Smith</runtime:topic> (Dearborn, Michigan) made 31 saves for the win.
Former <runtime:topic id="15031001">National Hockey League</runtime:topic> <runtime:topic id="PEHST001674">Maurice Richard</runtime:topic> trophy winner Jonathan Cheechoo scored the Rivermen's only goal, while goaltender <runtime:topic id="PESPT0014471">Ben Bishop</runtime:topic> took the loss despite 29 saves.
Friday night's game will be the U.S. Cellular Teddy Bear Toss. Fans are encouraged to bring new teddy bears to the Bradley Center, and then deposit them onto the ice after the Admirals score their first goal. The collected bears will be donated to needy children in the Milwaukee area.After this weekend Peoria and Milwaukee will meet again on Sunday December 18th at the Bradley Center.
