MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Admirals saw their franchise record nine-game winning streak come to an end at the hands of the Grand Rapids Griffins as they dropped a 3-0 decision to the Griffs Friday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
Grand Rapids goalie Jared Coreau stopped all 28 Admirals' shots for his second straight shutout.
The Griffins got on the board at 10:07 of the first period as a result of a 2-on-1 where Mitch Callahan got a nice pass from Temmu Pulkinen in the slot and was able to fire it past Ads goalie Magnus Hellberg.
The Griffins extended their lead to 2-0 with just 2:28 left in the period as Anthony Mantha fed Nathan Paetsch who fired a shot from the blue line which was initially saved by Hellberg, but Landon Ferraro found the rebound and had an open net for his 19th goal of the season. Just 2:41 into the second the Griffins scored again taking a 3-0 lead over the Admirals. Tomas Nosek made a hard move to the net and took a shot that was saved by Hellberg, but the puck was still loose and Mark Zengerle found it and got it past a a sprawled Hellberg.
