Another hurdle cleared: City leaders unanimously okay designs for new Bucks arena

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Common Council unanimously approved the detailed designs for the new Milwaukee Bucks arena on Tuesday morning, May 24th. The vote by council members was 15-0.

The council approved updated plans for three parcels of land for the arena district, including the arena itself, a new parking structure and the team's practice facility.

Tuesday's vote clears the way for the Bucks to break ground on the new facility -- which is set for June 18th. If all goes as planned, the new arena will open in summer 2018.
