AP source: Milwaukee Bucks lock up John Henson for 4 years, $44 million

MILWAUKEE --  A person with knowledge of the deal tells The Associated Press that the Milwaukee Bucks have locked up big man John Henson on a four-year extension worth $44 million.

The contract was agreed upon Friday morning and could reach $48 million with incentives. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because an official announcement has not been made.

The 24-year-old Henson averaged 7.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 18 minutes per game last season. But his playing time increased in the playoffs and the Bucks value the defensive presence he brings in the paint and his ability to guard multiple positions.

The deal ensures that Henson will remain a core member of a young team on the rise as he enters his fourth season in the league.
