Badgers beat the buzzer and Nittany Lions
STATE COLLEGE, PA (WITI) -- With no time left on the clock and the buzzer sounding, Traevon Jackson's 3 point shot went right through the cylinder giving Wisconsin a 63-60 win over Penn State Sunday afternoon.
The win gives the Badgers the 4 seed and a first round bye in the Big 10 Tournament that will be played in Chicago at the United Center. Wisconsin will play the winner of the 5 seed vs 12 seed game, Michigan vs Penn State on Friday at 1:30pm.
On Sunday, the Badgers once again squandered opportunities and put themselves in a position where overtime seemed inevitable. Late turnovers hurt the Badgers and put them in a position where an extra period would be necessary.
However, the magical shot by Jackson turned what could have been a very disappointing loss into a possible momentum building win as they head into the tournament.
Wisconsin (21-10, 12-6) finishes tied for 4th with Michigan (25-6, 12-6), but earned the higher seed based on tiebreakers.
