Badgers celebrate Final Four: "Something we will remember the rest of our lives"

MADISON (WITI) -- With the help of Bucky Badger and the UW Band, Wisconsin fans applauded the end of an exceptional Badgers season on Thursday, April 17 at a rally in Madison.

The event marks the end of the basketball season, and could be the last time we see the Final Four team together.

Looking back on all they have accomplished, the Final Four team sat on the stage to relive and reflect on some of the season's best moments.

"Coming back to Madison and getting hounded a little bit walking down the streets, it was crazy. A lot of fun. Something we're going to remember for the rest of our lives," Badgers guard Josh Gasser said.

"It was a fun group. We had fun playing the game together. Whenever you have guys that are goofy and like to have fun in the locker room and in the court, makes it a lot easier," Badgers forward Sam Dekker said.

Fans waited in line outside of the Kohl Center, and one fan held a basketball to be autographed by his favorite players.

"Ben Brust, Sam Dekker, Trayvon Jackson," said young Wisconsin fan, James Geier.

His dad says they made a lot of great memories this year at Badgers games.

"It was the best time a dad and a kid could have," said Geier's father.

Inside the Kohl Center on Thursday evening, fans were rewarded for their loyalty with smiles and autographs from the Final Four team.

"I see the biggest thing with them as chemistry, you see the other teams in the tournament, nobody had that or to that extent," said Badgers fan Tim Satterthwait.

Satterwait needs to find a special place in his home for his signed basketball because he says it will be the best thing in his house.

Head Coach Bo Ryan praised his players for their talent and work, and for being so downright likable.

"You know how hard it is to accomplish what these young men did? What a pleasure it was to come in here and be surrounded by the personalities that we have this year," said Ryan.

The players, along with Ryan, worked to interact with fans at the post-season celebration to show just how much the team appreciates the support.
