Badgers work overtime to beat Gophers in Twin Cities
Wisconsin senior point guard Jordan Taylor had hit five three-pointers against the Minnesota Gophers; the point guard was poised to win his first game in his home state. The Badgers led by thirteen in the second half. Then the door blew off the barn (aka Williams Arena).
Bo Ryan's team went scoreless over the game's final seven and a half minutes plus. The tenacious hosts almost won the game at the buzzer.
Alas, in overtime, UW's veteran savvy pulled the game out of the fire, 68-61; the visitors hit fifteen of seventeen free throws in the extra session. Taylor scored 27 points; Ryan Evans was clutch with seventeen points, eleven rebounds.
The 19-6 Badgers, 8-4 in the Big Ten, stays alive in the conference race. The victory lifts them to 8-2 away from the Kohl Center.
