Bears/Packers bus envy in Lambeau Field parking lot
GREEN BAY -- Some Green Bay Packers fans have taken their love for the team to the bus! They have fully decked out a motorhome with Packers gear. They had it parked at Lambeau Field Thursday in advance of the big Packers vs. Bears game, and gave FOX6 News a look inside.
"About two years ago, we decided to do this. I was gonna buy a Harley, but I thought, I am going to pitch in and buy this," one of the bus' owners told FOX6 News.
The bottom of the outside of the bus features the names and numbers of some of the prominent members of the Packers Hall of Fame, including Bart Starr, Forrest Gregg and Willie Wood.
On the side of the bus is a quote from legendary Packers coach Vince Lombardi: “It's not whether you got knocked down; it's whether you get back up.”
That's nothing compared to the inside!
The creators say they've become friends with Aaron Rodgers' parents.
"Over here, we've got 'Rodgers' Corner.' We've become friends with Aaron Rodgers' parents. They were up at the game -- last weekend they stopped up," the bus owner said.
The cabinets are adorned with plaques featuring both old and new players.
"We put a picture of Brett (Favre) up finally. We hadn't had Brett up, but this year we thought time is starting to heal the wounds," the bus owner said.
Another RV parked on the land owned by the Green Bay Packers in advance of the big game Thursday night was a Chicago Bears equipment RV. That motorhome was not so creatively decorated -- an Illinois license plate being the only indicator it was a Bears bus.
