Beyond the Game: 10-year-old "Koby" in a fight for his life
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Koby is your typical 10-year-old. He loves the Brewers. His favorite player is Nori Aoki. However, he is beyond his years when it comes to courage and having a gift that connects and inspires others.
10-year-old Jaykob Kobylarczyk loves life. He was living large a week-and-a-half ago at the Jackson Community Center, for "Koby Ping Pong Palooza!" The place was filled with family members and friends -- and even Milwaukee Wave Mascot Brad Beach!
It seemed like an entire community was there to rally around Koby and his family. As a sports fan, Koby understands battles. Right now, he is fighting the battle of his young life.
Koby was diagnosed with a brain tumor when he was two years old -- and has received weekly chemotherapy treatments.
On the recommendation of a pastor, three family friends led the charge to put Koby's benefit together. It was a labor of love, and it has been heartwarming to see how many people who have been touched by Koby's plight have come up alongside the entire family.
FOX6's Tom Pipines emceed Koby's benefit -- and shared Koby's story on FOX6 News. Click the video link above for more on this brave little boy.
