Beyond the Game: Marquette Alumnus Chris Grimm

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Marquette University's big win over 12th ranked Syracuse Monday night marked the fifth time in five seasons that Coach Buzz Williams has led the Golden Eagles to at least 20 wins.

Williams has continued the excellent standard set by Tom Crean, who's finest hour was the Dwayne Wade led stunning victory over Kentucky to get MU to the NCAA Final Four in the midst of that amazing run in 2003.

Chris Grimm was a freshman on that team. While he wasn't a key cog, the Grimm Reaper, as he's affectionately known, was proud to have made a contribution. Earlier this month, Grimm was able to be in attendance when Marquette honored the Final Four team on its 10th anniversary.

Grimm says he is proud of the entire group.

Athletes often talk of camaraderie. Good teams usually have it. Sometimes, there's something more.

The best part of the Marquette experience for Grimm was meeting his wife, Elizabeth. Nine-and-a-half months ago, she bore him a son named Amie. Grimm says Elizabeth was an MVP when he made stops overseas as a player.

Grimm now works from Kohl's Corporate as a merchandise analyst, and he's keeping his hand in the game he loves by helping out the Homestead High School basketball team.
