Brewers bow 7-3, lose opening series to Rockies
MILWAUKEE -- After winning on opening day, The Milwaukee Brewers dropped the last 2 games to Colorado, including Wednesday night's 7-3 setback.
The pitching continued to go south, with the Rockies collecting 15 hits and 3 home runs; Starter Wily Peralta allowed 4 runs in 5 and a third innings; closer John Axford gave up 2 homers and career-high 5 hits in the 9th.
Rickie Weeks was a bright spot with a single, double and his first homer of the season.
After seeing his staff give up 41 hits and 8 homers in the series, manager Ron Roenicke hopes newly-acquired Kyle Lohse can be the stopper when Arizona comes to town on Friday night for game one of a weekend series.
