Braun says he will speak when he is able to

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun isn't talking about his suspension from Major League Baseball yet. But he has put out another statement explaining why he's not talking yet.

Brewers owner Mark Attanasio met with the media Wednesday, July 24th for the first time since the 65-game suspension was handed out to Braun on Monday. He explained Braun may not be able to speak because of MLB's ongoing investigation into performance-enhancing drugs.

In a new statement, Braun referred to Attanasio's comments when he said, "When I am able to, I will speak. I know it was difficult for everybody. But I was not, and still am not, legally allowed to say anything yet."

Attanasio said he does not have a full accounting of Braun's drug violation. But he has told the embattled left fielder that he wants to take a more active role in talking to him going forward.
