MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Bucks say Steve Novak, a free agent forward signed just last Monday, February 22nd is out for the season.
Novak suffered an injury during the fourth quarter of the Bucks matchup with the Detroit Pistons Saturday night, February 27th at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
On Sunday, Bucks officials said on Twitter Novak has suffered a sprained MCL and he is expected to miss the remainder of the season.
The Bucks signed Novak on February 21st -- requesting waivers on forward Chris Copeland in a related transaction. On February 22nd, he made his debut with the Bucks in a 108–101 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.
32-year-old Novak appeared in seven games for the Oklahoma City Thunder this season prior to being traded to Denver on February 18th. He appeared in 456 career games (six starts), averaging 4.7 points and 1.3 rebounds while shooting 43.2% from three-point range in 10 seasons with Houston, L.A. Clippers, Dallas, San Antonio, New York, Toronto, Utah and Oklahoma City.
The Marquette University product was drafted by Houston with the 32nd overall pick of the 2006 NBA Draft.
