Danny Boy! O'Brien coming to QB Badgers

MADISON -- Former Maryland quarterback Danny O'Brien is following in the footsteps of Russell Wilson and transferring to the University of Wisconsin.

Like Wilson, O'Brien, who had a terrific freshman season and a so so sophomore campaign, took advantage of the NCAA rule that allows players who have graduated not to have to sit out a year.  O'Brien graduated after 3 years at Maryland ; he has two years of eligibility remaining; of course, Wilson starred for one year.

Danny O'Brien played 17 games at Maryland over the past two seasons and was named ACC Rookie of the Year in 2010.
