GREEN BAY (WITI) -- ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted out on Monday evening, November 11th that the Green Bay Packers are signing quarterback Matt Flynn.
Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy confirmed that Flynn was working out with the team. Coach McCarthy would not say anything more about it.
Matt Flynn
Flynn is now in Green Bay because of injuries on the quarterback front. Aaron Rodgers was hurt in the first offensive series in the game against the Chicago Bears one week ago. On Sunday, Seneca Wallace suffered a groin injury in the first series against the Philadelphia Eagles. That left Scott Tolzien, fresh from the practice squad, to lead the Packers for the rest of the game.
McCarthy has already indicated Tolzien will get the start for the Packers against the New York Giants next Sunday. Flynn, if given the clearance, would be Tolzien's backup.
