ESPN: Packers QB Aaron Rodgers eliminating cheese, other dairy products to "extend my career"
GREEN BAY -- Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, leader of the Cheeseheads won't be eating cheese anymore, according to ESPN.
ESPN is reporting Rodgers has adopted a sort of vegan diet -- eliminating dairy products.
Rodgers told ESPN on Thursday, June 2nd that the vegan diet is part of his long-term nutrition plan to help him play for as long as possible. He told ESPN that since his knee surgery in January, he has been eating "some red meat at times and some chicken" -- but that he is trying to focus on fruits and vegetables.
"I think that's how I can extend my career -- if I eat a little bit better," Rodgers told ESPN.
Rodgers told ESPN he is down to "218-ish" pounds from 230 at his heaviest.
