"Everyone together in one space:" Look inside new Milwaukee Bucks offices in Schlitz Park
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee Bucks have been looking good on the court with a 30-23 record on the season. The team has doubled its win total compared with last season. Another thing that's looking good is the Bucks new offices. They're out of the BMO Harris Bradley Center, and are now located on the top floor of the Schlitz Stock House.
"Want to have everyone together in one space," the project's architect Rich Tennessen said.
Tennessen was tasked with figuring out how to populate more than 17,000 square feet.
"Quick checklist: Natural light critical, including making sure any open offices on the exterior are transparent, that the glass allows light to come through. Making sure that collaborative areas are sprinkled throughout the space," Tennessen said.
The layout has the feel of a trading room floor. The central bullpen has a full court of sales calls, and there are TVs everywhere you look.
"The Bucks were scattered throughout four different locations and they wanted to get everyone together," Tennessen said.
Bucks staff members moved in about two weeks ago, and they're still getting used to their new space.
"It's really exciting. It's like watching a kid come down on Christmas morning," John Grunau said.
Grunau oversees tenants throughout Schlitz Park.
"The youthfulness and the excitement and the vibrancy these guys bring to the campus is second to none," Grunau said.
The Bucks new offices offer spectacular views of Milwaukee.
"The culture has really changed and this is the the first step in kind of the changing of the story of the Milwaukee Bucks," Alex Lasry, Bucks Vice President of Strategy and Operations said.
Tennessen says the space is indicative of the Bucks' new outlook.
"A new day in Milwaukee and they are investing in the community and investing in their employees and looking to build a champtionship team and I think this is a great first step in doing that," Tennessen said.
The fourth and fifth floors of the Stock House building are currently vacant. Brewery Works, the company that owns the property worked with the Bucks for nearly a year to secure and renovate this new space.
