FOX6's Ted Perry arrives in Canton via Atlanta; home of the Falcons, the team that drafted Brett Favre
CANTON, Ohio -- Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio on Saturday, August 6th. FOX6's Ted Perry traveled to Canton Wednesday, August 3rd -- via Atlanta.
Atlanta, Georgia is the home of Coca-Cola, great barbecue and the perennially just OK Atlanta Falcons. Atlanta is the city too busy to hate, and apparently too impatient to groom a Hall of Famer.

You'll recall, Brett Favre was selected in the second round of the 1991 NFL Draft by Atlanta -- the 33rd overall pick. He was traded to Green Bay on February 10th, 1992 for the 19th pick in the 1992 NFL Draft.

Kirby Carswell
Bartender Kirby Carswell told FOX6's Ted Perry on Wednesday, August 3rd that's for the better. Brett Favre, Carswell said, would have enjoyed Atlanta a little too much.
"Too much going on in Atlanta for Brett -- so he went to Green Bay. Nothing to do, cold weather -- it made him concentrate and made him a great quarterback," Carswell said.
But don't those in Atlanta feel it would be nice if Favre was going into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a Falcon?

Brett Favre
"My boyfriend is a big Falcons fan. He's a little hurt. I'm not gonna lie," Ivory Lloyd said.
FOX6's Ted Perry had a tough time finding Falcons fans -- even when he put out a call to them in the country's busiest airport Wednesday.

You can find Falcons shirts in the airport -- but they don't say Favre on the back. And the "G's" in Atlanta -- they're for the University of Georgia. Football fans don't root for the green and gold in Atlanta.
It's not like the Falcons got nothing for Favre. They used a first-round pick to select Tony Smith the following year.
"Yeah -- who...who is that guy?" a Falcons fan said.

Atlanta Falcons
FOX6's Ted Perry: "Do you remember who you got for him?"
"No one worth remembering I bet," a Falcons fan said.
FOX6's Ted Perry: "Tony Smith."
"Not a good trade," a Falcons fan said.

Brett Favre
How would Atlanta, Georgia be different if they'd had Brett Favre for 20 years?
"We'd have two Super Bowls!" a Falcons fan said.
FOX6's Ted Perry: "Does that hurt?"
"Yeah, a little bit," a Falcons fan said.

Again -- Brett Favre will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame Saturday, August 6th and FOX6's Ted Perry and Tim Van Vooren will be there.
