MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee Brewers have begun Cactus League play at Maryvale Baseball Park in Arizona -- and back in Milwaukee, fans are gearing up for Opening Day on Monday, April 6th. The best baseball hitters in the world have to have a great bat, and FOX6's Tom Pipines caught up with the "Bat Girl" at Spring Training.
"Come out to the complexes. We do Arizona and then I go to Florida -- so we basically visit one team a day. Come here and set up with the bats and the guys come out and check them out and try them. The most difficult part I guess is changing a guy who's been swinging something forever -- even opening their eyes to try something out new. But if they give you that opportunity, then you run with it and you, you know, make them a sample. They can try it out. You know you have to cater to them and make sure their model is exactly how they like it. Their measurements are exactly how they like it," Bat Girl Michelle Ismha said.
A bonus: Ismha speaks Spanish.
"It does help that I speak spanish, because for a lot of them they're much more comfortable that way. I got lucky. I never never dreamed that I would be selling baseball bats to professional baseball players but it's worked out so far," Ismha said.
