Gloomy forecast forces Badgers to cancel spring football game
MADISON — Wisconsin has canceled its spring football game because of a weather forecast calling for heavy rain and thunderstorms.
Wisconsin says the game on Friday night at Camp Randall Stadium will not be rescheduled. The Badgers will instead have a practice indoors that will be closed to the public.
Athletic director Barry Alvarez said on Tuesday that the safety of players and fans was the school's top priority in scrapping the game. The school says that fans who bought tickets will receive refunds.
The Badgers are in their final two weeks of spring practice.
