MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Brewers hadn't been able to score runs of late, but as usual, that changed in Monday night's 6-5 victory over Houston with Zack Greinke on the mound at Miller Park.
Counting playoffs, the Brewers are 20-0 at home when the righthander pitches. Greinke's personal mark is 14-0. Greinke spotted the Astros a run before the hosts put up three in the bottom of the first inning, as Braun, Ramirez and Hart drove in home runs.
They upped the lead to 6-2 before Jose Veras coughed up three runs to the visitors in the seventh inning, but Francisco Rodriguez and John Axford nailed the door shut for Greinke, who struck out a season-high nine batters over six innings, while allowing two runs.
Axford's save extended his club record to 46 in a row. The Brewers are 49-0 when leading after seven innings. Ryan Braun had a single, a homer (his third) and a double with two runs batted in.
