MILWAUKEE — Jordan Johnson had a triple-double — the fourth in Milwaukee men's basketball history — to help the Panthers beat Youngstown State 87-51 Monday night, February 22nd.
Johnson finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Matt Tiby scored 19, Akeem Springs added 14 points and nine rebounds and Austin Arians 11 points for Milwaukee.
The Panthers (18-11, 9-7 Horizon League) shot just 34.5 percent (10 of 29) from the field in the first half, but turned eight offensive rebounds into 10 second-chance points and took a 37-28 lead into the break.
Cody Wichmann hit a pair of 3s during a 24-2 run that put Milwaukee up 67-39 with 9:54 to play.
Youngstown State (10-19, 5-11), which made just 3 of 22 (14 percent) from 3-point range, never challenged again.
Matt Donlan led the Penguins with 13 points.
Milwaukee shot 54 percent, while Youngstown State made just 8 of 32 field goals, in the second half.
