Marquette University men's soccer team undefeated at 11-0
MILWAUKEE -- The Marquette University men's soccer team is undefeated (11-0) after taking care of UConn -- ranked number two at the time -- last week.
Coach Louie Bennett's guys are now ranked fourth in the NSCAA Poll after climbing to second in the Soccer America Poll.
It's a complete turnaround from the one-win season Bennett posted in his first year with the Golden Eagles.
Bennett has been around a long time, and says he knows rankings and momentum can't suit up and score goals.
"When you leave the locker room and there's a bunch of guys that know it's about giving their best -- and their best will be good enough, you've got some kind of glue and cement that really holds you together," Bennett said.
MU will look for its 13th consecutive regular-season victory on Tuesday, October 9th versus NIU, the Golden Eagles' final non-conference match of the season.
