Marquette's Crowder stands out versus Rutgers
MILWAUKEE -- Marquette senior star Jae Crowder is turning the heads of NBA scouts, and his Golden Eagles teammates are happy to be in his company. Crowder scored 27 points to lead tenth-ranked MU to an 82-65 win over Rutgers on Wednesday night in the Bradley Center.
If Crowder, who was just named Big East player of the week for his 29-point performance at Connecticut on Saturday, is Butch Cassidy, then Darius Johnson-Odom is the Sundance Kid. DJO poured in 21 points as the Golden Eagles won their 11th game in the last 12. They form one of the top tandems in college basketball..
Buzz Williams' team is 23-5, 12-3 in the Big East Conference, tied for second place with Notre Dame.
