Milwaukee Admirals extend point streak but fall in OT to Manitoba Moose, 4-3
MILWAUKEE -- The Admirals extended their point streak to 11 games with a point in overtime as they fell to the Manitoba Moose 4-3 at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena on Saturday night.
Trevor Murphy scored his first two goals of the season for Milwaukee, while Cody Bass earned a goal and an assist in his second game back with the club after being reassigned from Nashville on Thursday.
The Admirals got on the board just over four minutes into the game as Bass went bar down to beat Manitoba goalie Eric Comrie. Bass and Trevor Smith skated into the Moose zone 2-on-1 and Bass fired a snapshot over Comrie's shoulder for a 1-0 lead.
Manitoba tied the score up later in the first period on Dan DeSalvo's fourth goal of the year with just 50 seconds to play in the frame.
Murphy put Milwaukee back in the lead at 5:11 of the second with a seeing-eye wrister from the high slot that got through traffic and by Comrie. Matt White and Bass added assists on the play.
The Admirals lead lasted until 98 seconds into the final period when Manitoba's leading scorer Jack Roslovic beat Milwaukee goalie Jonas Gunnarsson over his shoulder to knot the game at two.
After Kevin Czuczman gave the Moose a 3-2 lead with his third goal of the season, Murphy got his second of the game to tie the score and eventually lead the game into OT.
However, just 47 seconds into the extra session Chase DeLeo beat Gunnersson to give the Moose the victory.
Milwaukee hits the road now for four in a row, starting with a pair of games next weekend in Cleveland.
