Milwaukee Admirals: Free tickets for veterans this Friday night!
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee Admirals are proud to welcome Appleton native, Vietnam War Veteran, and four-time Super Bowl Champion Rocky Bleier to their annual Military Appreciation Night this Friday, November 7th at 7:00 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
“We are honored to welcome Rocky Bleier to our Military Appreciation Night,” said Greenberg. “His story of perseverance and dedication is truly inspirational. It will be a pleasure to welcome him back to Wisconsin on this special night.”
The Admirals will wear special military inspired jerseys, which will be auctioned off via silent auction, with the proceeds benefiting Fisher House Wisconsin, USO Wisconsin, and Stars & Stripes Honor Flight.
Plus, the Ads are honored to offer all veterans and active military personnel and their families free tickets (up to six per veteran) to that night’s game. To register for these tickets veterans should visit USOWisconsin.eventbrite.com.
The Ads will also sell specially designed military pucks that will be autographed by Admirals players and sold in the West Atrium and the BMOBC merchandise stands.
An alumni of Xavier High School in Appleton and the University of Notre Dame, Bleier suffered terrible wounds as a member of the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War, but he fought back and became a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers. As a halfback for the Steelers, he was involved in and won four Super Bowls. His story is chronicled in a book that he wrote entitled “Fighting Back” and in a television movie by the same name.
He also serves as national spokesperson for the National Veterans Owned Business Association (NVOBA) which helps veteran owned businesses. According to Bleier, there are 3.6 million veteran owned businesses across the United States.
“We provide veterans with an organization in which they can pull together to market themselves to corporate America,” said Bleier.
In addition, he is the managing member of RB VetCo LLC, a Service Disabled Veteran Owned general contractor in the construction industries, with offices in Pittsburgh and Chicago.
Bleier, his wife and their two little girls live in Pittsburgh. He and his wife are involved in many charity groups. He has two grown children from a previous marriage and four grandchildren.
