Milwaukee Admirals trampled by Manitoba Moose 3-2

Winnipeg, MB -- Goalie Eric Comrie stopped 30 shots to lead the Manitoba Moose to a 3-2 win over the Milwaukee Admirals Saturday night.

The Admirals fell to 0-3-0-0 against the Moose this season. Manitoba has won six games in the 2015-16 season. Three wins have come versus the Admirals.

Joe Pendenza put Milwaukee on the board first as he picked up a missed pass in the Admirals zone. Pendenza raced along the left wing into the Moose zone then ripped a shot over the right shoulder of Manitoba goalie Eric Comrie at 12:37 of the first period. The unassisted goal was Pendenza’s second tally of the season.

Manitoba tied the game at 17:52 of the first period when defenseman Julian Melchiori corralled a turnover at the middle of the Milwaukee blue line and slapped a shot into the net for his first goal of the season.

The Moose took a 2-1 lead at 9:54 of the second period. Peter Stoykewich’s shot from the left point bounced off traffic in front of Mazanec and bounced to Matt Fraser who scored his first goal of the year.

Chase De Leo gave the Moose a 3-1 lead at 16:38 of the second period with a shot from the left circle that deflected off the stick of Mazanec into the air and into the net.

Milwaukee pulled the goalie with 2:23 to play in regulation and Max Reinhart was able to score his seventh goal of the season with 12 seconds to play in regulation. The goal was assisted by Taylor Aronson and Kevin Fiala.

Milwaukee’s road trip concludes Sunday afternoon at Manitoba. The Admirals return home Tues., Dec. 15 to host the Chicago Wolves at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
