Milwaukee Bucks' Larry Sanders suspended 10 games for drug violation
NEW YORK (AP) — Larry Sanders of the Milwaukee Bucks has been suspended without pay for a minimum of 10 games for violating terms of the NBA's anti-drug program.
The league announced the suspension on Friday.
Sanders' suspension will begin Monday when the Bucks host the Toronto Raptors. It will continue until he's in full compliance with his treatment program.
The Milwaukee Bucks issued the following statement Friday:
“We are disappointed to learn the news of Larry’s suspension. We will continue to work with Larry and the league to ensure he has the support he needs.”
Last season, the 6-foot-11 shot-blocking center had an orbital bone fracture and a thumb injury. Sanders also had off-court issues after signing a four-year, $44 million contract extension.
