Milwaukee Hamilton's Kevon Looney was born to play basketball

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The high school basketball season ended in March, but the top notch players continue to play.  AAU leagues all over the country host the most talented players in the high school pool.

"It's always good playing against the best competition in the country," said Milwaukee Hamilton High School basketball star Kevon Looney.  "I feel like I'm one of the best players in the country."

Loony's 'feeling' isn't far-fetched.  He's ranked ninth on ESPN's top 100 high school basketball players.  If that doesn't convince you, Duke University and USA Olympic head coach Mike Krzyzewski has been to Milwaukee to scout the young star.  Putting all the attention aside, Looney knows he can still improve.  "To be the best you need to beat the best," he said after finishing an AAU game at Homestead High School in July.

Even with all his success on the court, Looney still spends time volunteering and helping children.  For all his accomplishments, and all he has left to achieve, Kevon Looney is a FOX6 High School Hot Shot.
