Milwaukee tactical situation involving stolen SUV; 3 charged

MILWAUKEE - A tactical situation on Milwaukee's north side on Dec. 11 has led to felony charges for three teens.
Court records show 18-year-old Cortez Jackson is charged with driving a stolen vehicle, eluding police, and obstructing an officer. Jeremy Jones Jr., 17, and Aaron Mims, 18, face charges for possessing firearms despite being prohibited due to prior felony adjudications.

Police encounter
Milwaukee police spotted a stolen 2025 Honda CR-V running near the intersection of 35th and Florist around 8:30 a.m. that morning. Officers said the windows were heavily tinted, and three individuals were found asleep inside.
When police ordered them to exit, prosecutors said Jackson allegedly tried to flee. In his attempt, he rammed the stolen vehicle into an armored tactical vehicle multiple times before being caught after he attempted to run. A vehicle parked next to the Honda was also damaged.
Jones and Mims were also arrested. According to a criminal complaint, police said Jones was in the back seat while Mims attempted to hide under the vehicle.

Prosecutors said Instagram accounts tied to both Jones and Jackson revealed photos of the recovered firearms, ammunition, and large sums of cash posted weeks before the incident.

In court
Court records show a cash bond of $5,000 has been set for Jones and Mims, and a $7,500 bond has been set for Jackson.
Both Jones and Jackson are in custody, and the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office said Mims has been booked into the Milwaukee County Reintegration Center.
All three teens are set to appear in court on Monday, Dec. 23 for a preliminary hearing.
