Milwaukee Wave look to bounce back at home after dropping game one of MASL playoffs in Chicago

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The six-time champion Milwaukee Wave look to bounce back after dropping game one of the 2015 MASL Ron Newman Cup Playoffs in Chicago last Thursday, February 26th -- 6-3.

The Mustangs held the Wave scoreless in the second half of game one with goals coming from Hewerton, Efrain “Wilo” Wilson and two goals by Taylor Bond, including an empty net goal against Wave sixth attacker #28 Jonathan Greenfield.

“We played a team that just wanted it a lot more than we did. I don’t think all of our players realize that this is the playoffs, this is another level and you’ve got to play that much harder in the postseason. We didn’t do that in the second half," Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero said.

Game two is set for this Saturday afternoon, March 7th at 3:00 p.m. at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena with a 15-minute mini game three, if necessary.

“Our first objective is to win game two in regulation time and send it the to the mini game.  Our energy during the second half of game one in Chicago wasn’t the greatest but this time we’re playing in front of our fans and we’ve got home field. I think your going to see a lot of great energy, start to finish on Saturday," Oliviero said.

The winner of this series will meet the number one seed, Missouri Comets in the MASL Central Division Championship on Thursday, March 12th at Independence Events Center.

Missouri finished the regular season undefeated with a 20-0 record. The Comets are 2-0 against the Wave and 3-0 against the Mustangs this season.
