Packers, Bears fans proudly proclaim allegiances ahead of game

GREEN BAY -- The anticipation was high in Wisconsin -- and Illinois for that matter on Thursday, September 13th, as the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears were set to square off in a prime time game at Lambeau Field in "Week Two" of the NFL regular season.

Kenosha's Brat Stop was filled with conflicting colors Thursday. The big border battle Thursday night had both Bears and Packers fans proudly proclaiming their allegiances.

"A good rivalry is a good thing!" one fan said.

A chartered bus out of Illinois carried fans of both teams who claimed to co-exist peacefully.

"We're trying to teach the Bears fans what it's like to have a Super Bowl Championship year," one Packers fans said.

On board the bus, there was green and gold intermixed with burnt orange and navy blue -- along with a peculiar color combination: purple and yellow! As it turns out, there were Vikings fans headed up to Lambeau Field aboard the bus to check out the game.

Kenosha Brat Stop owner Jerry Rasmussen said while he welcomes all football fans, he personally prefers Packers pride.

"There's definitely a rivalry, but people always get along unless they drink too much. Then, they get a little goofy, and we put them outside," Rasmussen said.

Rasmussen said ultimately, he's happy he can provide a place where both Bears fans and Packers fans can come together -- at least until game time!
