Packers blanked by Cardinals in preseason opener at Lambeau Field
GREEN BAY (WITI) -- The Green Bay Packers were shut out by the Arizona Cardinals in the preseason opener at Lambeau Field on Friday, August 9th. The final score was 17-0.
Aaron Rodgers played just one series in the game and completed three of five passes for 62 yards. Graham Harrell later went 12 for 19 and 76 yards. He was sacked twice for a loss of 20 yards.
James Starks led the team in rushing. He ran 38 yards in twelve attempts. Alex Green was second best, running seven times for 16 yards.
Green Bay's defense missed having Tramon Williams in the lineup on Friday. He missed the game with a knee injury.
The Packers gave up the ball twice in the game -- once by fumble, once by interception.
This was the Packers first shutout loss to a team in preseason since Forrest Gregg coached the team.
