Padres pound Yo, beat Crew 10-8

MILWAUKEE -- Yovani Gallardo was roughed up for 6 runs in just 3.2 innings Thursday, as the San Diego Padres whipped the Brewers, 10-8 at Miller Park.

Yuniesky Betancourt went 4-4 with a homer and 2 rbi; All-Star Carlos Gomez was 3-5, including his 16th homer.

After the game, the Brewers, who open a weekend series in Colorado Friday night, optioned first baseman Sean Halton to Triple-A Nashville.

Rob Wooten, Nashville's closer, was being brought up.

Ryan Braun issued a statement through a team spokesperson saying he wants to speak with the media about his suspension, but isn't "legally" permitted to at this time.
