Peralta, Crew shut out Reds 2-0
MILWAUKEE -- Wily Peralta pitched a complete game, the Brewers first in 407 games (longest streak in the major leagues), and Ryan Braun returned to action after missing 30 games in Milwaukee's 2-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds Tuesday night.
Peralta showed the Miller Park crowd why the Brewers are so high on his potential. His 3-hit shutout included 6 strikeouts and 4 walks.
Logan Schafer's first major league home run, a 2-run blow, accounted for the scoring.
Braun, back for the first time since June 10th with the injured thumb, went 1 for 3 before being pulled in the 7th inning.
After the game, the 2011 MVP maintained his innocence but declined to comment on ESPN's Outside the Lines Report that he'll be suspended after the All-Star break for using performance-enchancing drugs.
