Badgers gearing up for Rose Bowl

PASADENA, Calif. -- With just days to go before the annual Rose Bowl parade, volunteers were busy getting floats parade ready on Thursday, December 27th.

The New Year's Day parade will feature a variety of colorful and floral floats. Among them are "Canines with Courage," honoring the canine members of the U.S. Armed Forces.

The Wisconsin Badgers are playing in the Rose Bowl -- taking on Stanford.

The Badgers have arrived in Pasadena, and before the big game, they had some fun at Disneyland!

The trip to Disneyland is a tradition that dates back to 1959.

After that trip, the competition spirit kicked in. Both Rose Bowl teams participated in the "Beef Bowl" -- an eating competition.

Last year, the Badgers put away 650 pounds of meat, losing to Oregon by 20 pounds.

Wisconsin and Stanford will hit the field on New Year's Day in Pasadena. FOX6's Jen Lada will be there. Watch for her reports beginning Saturday, December 29th.
