Race car driver Conrad Morgan says racing keeps him young
SLINGER (WITI) -- You'll have to forgive Conrad Morgan if he can't remember exactly how long he's been driving race cars. At an age where some folks are contemplating retirement, the Waukesha native is still going strong!
Morgan is one of the true veterans of the local race scene. He's an 11-time track champion in Wisconsin.
He says he still gets behind the wheel because he feels like the can enter the winner's circle after every race!
"My wife says that when I quit racing, she won't know what to do with me, because I don't golf, I don't fish, I don't hunt and I don't go to Packers games!" Morgan said.
Morgan is 65-years-old and still feeling the need for speed at Slinger Speedway on Sunday nights. He started racing at that track in 1966. He says racing allows him to continue drinking from the fountain of youth.
"The older you get, it's a lot of work and the work catches up with you, but I love racing when I'm on the racetrack and it's really another world and I guess that's why I work to be able to do it every week," Morgan said.
Morgan met his wife, Lisa at a race track.
FOX6's Tom Pipines met up with Morgan to talk about his racing endeavors. Click the video link above for more!
