Senior point guard Donovan Jackson dominates for Pius XI "Popes"
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Donovan Jackson is a senior point guard on the Pius XI boy's basketball team. He says he started playing basketball around the age of three.
"Ever since I can remember, I've always had a ball in my hands," Jackson told FOX6 News.
Jackson says basketball runs in his family. He says his brother is a professional basketball player in Mexico, and his father played in both high school and college.
He says his best moment on the court was in seventh grade, when his team was playing a team called the "Titans" in the championship.
"My brother was there, and that was one of the few games he was there. I think I had like, 27 points, and played really good -- and he kept on bragging on me the whole night and said I was gonna be big," Jackson said.
Jackson said when he's not on the court or in the gym, he likes to spend time with his family and watch movies -- citing "Hitch" as his favorite movie.
He says his inspiration is Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers.
"He's really dominant all around -- and he knows five languages," Jackson said.
Jackson says his goal after high school is to play college ball and to make the pros.
