Strong start to second half of season, Brewers win, 3-2
MILWAUKEE -- The Brewers overcame a blown save to defeat the Rockies, 3-2 on Ryan Braun's walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning Friday night. The victory came in the 82nd game of the season and gave Milwaukee its 50th win of the year.
Kyle Lohse did not earn a decision, but lowered his earned run average by pitching 7 innings and allowing only 1 run. Francisco Rodriguez allowed a game-tying home run to Josh Rutledge in the top of the ninth inning and wound up getting the victory thanks to Milwaukee's rally.
The teams meet again on Saturday and Milwaukee Bucks draft choice Jabari Parker is slated to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
