"The Bucks support us very well:" Veterans Day is "Military Night" at BMO Harris Bradley Center

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- It started this past weekend, with the Veterans Day Parade in downtown Milwaukee, and the tribute to servicemen and women continued during Milwaukee Bucks practice on Monday morning, November 10th.

The Milwaukee Bucks welcomed active servicemen and women to practice at their training center in St. Francis on Monday morning.

Patrick Hasselbring is a Coast Guard operations specialist, and one of 80 servicemen and women invited to shoot around with Bucks players in honor of Veterans Day.

"It was fun getting out there, getting the ball thrown to me, going out there and taking a free throw," Hasselbring said.

Later Monday, Bucks Head Coach Jason Kidd and Bucks players visited veterans at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee.

Veterans Day -- Tuesday, November 11th is "Military Night" at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

"Tomorrow, night seeing veterans at the game is going to be a lot of fun," Coach Kidd said.

The Bucks can play because of another team that serves and protects the "home court."

"We're at lot alike in that regard. Different venues, different circumstances but we are definitely a lot alike in the fact that it is a team effort," Sunny Mitchell, a chaplain with the U.S. Navy.

"They understand the game. It's all about the team, it's all about, defend your house, your building," said Zaza Pachulia, Bucks center.

"I've been everywhere -- from the East Coast, West Coast, Alaska and by far the people here in Milwaukee as well as the Bucks support us very well," Bryan Dillon with the Coast Guard said.

The Bucks are hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder on "Military Night" Tuesday. The first 10,000 adults age 18 and up will receive a FOX Sports Wisconsin Military Cap.
