UWM Panthers not waiting for NCAA Tourney to dance
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The UW-Milwaukee men's basketball team has their dancing shoes on -- and they're not waiting for the NCAA Tournament to dance!
The UWM Panthers are in the Big Dance after beating Wright State last Tuesday night, March 11th 69-63.
Wright State has a season-high six-game winning streak snapped. The Raiders were trying to get back to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2007.
In the victory, UWM clinched the Horizon League tournament title — and is launched into the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2006.
UWM was ranked last in the Horizon League this season.
On "Selection Sunday" -- when brackets and seeds are released -- UW-Milwaukee released a video showcasing UWM Panthers players doing their best dance to Pharell's "Happy."
The video, posted to YouTube on Sunday bears this message:
"The team has silenced the critics, but one huge question remains: Who has the best moves at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee?"
