"You can just feel the energy in the crowd:" Packers fans rally ahead of NFC Championship game

GREEN BAY (WITI) -- Thursday night, January 15th in Green Bay, hundreds of Packers fans packed into the Tundra Tailgate Zone at Lambeau Field for one last pep rally before the big game vs. the Seahawks in Seattle!

Perhaps only in Titletown USA can a mid-week football rally draw a crowd so big.

"It's Titletown USA, there's not a better place to be for pre-gaming for a Packers game," said Jake Eisenschink, Packers fan.

Taking to the stage, the Packers President and CEO, Mark Murphy, shared in fans' excitement.

"You can just feel the energy in the crowd. Our team is just playing so much better now than we were earlier in the year," said Murphy.

Fans who live in Green Bay say aside from bars, their city will be a ghost town come Sunday.

"Everywhere you go it's Packers and if you don't like the Packers, you're an outcast," said Eisenschinck.

One fan is just happy to be surrounded by hundreds who share the same passion.

"I'm here where I can wear green and gold and not get dirty looks. I can come and 'hoorah!'" said Renee Mitchell, Packers fan.

The rally on Thursday was all free, and afterwards, fans got some autographs at the Packers Pro Shop.

The team also has a big rally planned in Seattle as well.

Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 18th at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.
