MILWAUKEE --Marquette University men’s basketball players Sam and Joey Hauser will transfer from the program, head coach Steve Wojciechowski announced Monday morning, April 15.“We are thankful for all that Sam and Joey contributed to our program and University during their time at Marquette and wish them the best of luck in the future,” Wojciechowski said.  “We have a tremendous group of returning players and are extremely excited about the upcoming season and future of our program.”

No. 16 Marquette falls to Seton Hall 73-64

NEWARK, N.J. — As Quincy McKnight dribbled into the frontcourt in the waning seconds, a smile came across the face of the Seton Hall point guard and it wasn't long before his teammates starting jumping around and hugging each other as if they had won a tournament game.The Hall didn't win anything other than a game against No. 16 Marquette on Wednesday, but the way the Pirates did it and what it meant was extraordinary.Myles Powell scored 34 points and Seton Hall revived its NCAA Tournament hopes by scoring the final 18 points to beat the Golden Eagles 73-64 at the Prudential Center."We knew what was on the line," said Powell, who added five rebounds and five assists in helping the Pirates (17-12, 8-9 Big East) end a three-game losing streak. MILWAUKEE — Creighton harassed Marquette enough on defense to nullify another high-scoring game from Markus Howard.Martin Krampelj scored 19 points and Ty-Shon Alexander added 14 as Creighton took advantage of 22 turnovers en route to 66-60 victory over the 10th-ranked Golden Eagles on Sunday.The Bluejays (16-13, 7-9 Big East) outscored Marquette 16-3 down the stretch until a 3-pointer in the closing seconds by Howard, who finished with 33 points."We've just got to have a better focus going into games," Howard said. Marquette women fall to Creighton 71-65

OMAHA, Neb. — Audrey Faber scored 24 points and Creighton upset Big East regular-season champion No. 13 Marquette 71-65 on Friday night.Jaylyn Agnew added 15 points and Temi Carda 11 points for the Bluejays (14-14, 8-9), who have won three straight as they continue their drive for a first-round bye in the Big East tournament.

Markus Howard and Theo John led Marquette to 79-69 win over Butler

MILWAUKEE — Markus Howard scored 28 points and Theo John added 15 points and 11 rebounds as No. 11 Marquette pulled away in the second half for a 79-69 victory over Butler on Wednesday night.Marquette (22-4, 11-2 Big East) erased a eight-point deficit early in the second half with a 25-7 run.Sean McDermott had 27 points and Kamar Baldwin 12 for Butler (15-12, 6-8).With No. 17 Villanova's 85-73 loss at Georgetown on Wednesday, the Golden Eagles moved into the Big East lead a half-game ahead of the Wildcats.Howard, the Big East's leading scorer, made 9 of 20 shots, including 6 of 13 from beyond the arc.Baldwin hit two free throws to put Butler in front 44-43 with 12:45 remaining, but the Golden Eagles ran off 11 consecutive points, pushing the lead to 54-44 on John's rebound dunk.Jordan Tucker ended Butler's scoring drought of almost 5 ½ minutes with a 3-pointer.
