Admirals battle back from early deficit to beat Texas Stars 7-2

MILWAUKEE -- Pontus Aberg, Justin Florek, and Vladislav Kamenev each score a pair of goals as the Admirals battled back from an early deficit to defeat the Texas Stars 7-2 on Sunday afternoon, April 2nd at Panther Arena.Aberg's first tally was his 30th of the season, making him just the fourth player in the Admirals AHL history (2001) to score 30 or more goals in the season.

No fooling: Admirals fall to Stars 5-2

The Admirals scored the first two goals of the game, but Texas got the final five as the Ads dropped a 5-2 decision to the Stars on Saturday night at Panther Arena.The loss by Milwaukee, coupled with a 5-2 win by Cleveland, kept their magic number to clinch a playoff spot at three.The Admirals got on the board just over five minutes into the game on a power-play goal from Pontus Aberg, who snapped a wrister from the right circle for his 29th goal of the season and 14th on the power-play.Later in the first Trevor Murphy pushed the Ads lead to two at with 5:59 to go opening frame.

Aberg nets 2, but Admirals fall to Griffins 3-2

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Admirals saw their three-game winning streak end at the hands of Grand Rapids as they dropped a 3-2 decision to the Griffins on Sunday afternoon, March 26th at Panther Arena.Pontus Aberg continued his hot play, scoring his 27th and 28th goals of the season, but it wasn't enough as Milwaukee lost for just the second time in their past seven games.The Griffins got the scoring going when Ben Street's wrister got by Marek Mazanec 3:36 into the game, the only scoring of the opening period.However, Aberg's first goal of the night leveled the score at one just over three minutes in the middle frame.

Perfetto, Ribeiro each score 2 in Ads win over Moose

Winnipeg, M.B. -- Mike Ribeiro posted a four-point game and Marek Mazanec stopped 26 shots to lead the Admirals to a 6-2 win over the Manitoba Moose Thursday night at the MTS Centre.Ribeiro joins Matt White and Vladislav Kamenev as Admirals players to record four-point games this season.Ads forward Stephen Perfetto recorded his first two-goal game in the AHL and now has 30 goals in pro hockey this year.

2nd period propels Admirals to 6-3 win over Grand Rapids Griffins

MILWAUKEE -- The Admirals busted out for four goals in the second period to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 5-2 advantage on their way to a 6-3 win against the Grand Rapids Griffins Sunday afternoon, March 19th at Panther Arena.Anthony Richard led charge in the second period, picking up a Gordie Howe hat trick (a goal, an assist, and a fight) during the middle frame alone.The win was even more impressive give it was the Admirals third game in as many days and the team had to travel seven hours to Des Moines, IA each of the last two nights.Marek Mazanec stopped 28 shots to earn his 21st win of the season and came within a couple of feet of becoming the first Admiral goalie in 12 years to score a goal when he's full-ice shot with a Grand Rapids empty net trickled just wide.The Griffins got on the board early when Eric Tangradi scored on a wrister from the right circle 3:31 into the game.The Ads leveled the score on Matt White's 13th goal of the year with 2;43 to play in the first.

Mazanec shines in Admirals 2-1 win vs. Wild

Marek Mazanec stopped 25 shots to earn his 20th win of the season, while Justin Florek and Pontus Aberg provided the offense as the Admirals took a 2-1 win over the Iowa Wild on Friday night at Panther Arena.The win was the second in a row for Milwaukee and got the team off on the right foot as they face a three-game-in-three night stretch this weekend.The Admirals opened the scoring at the 7:03 mark of the opening period on Florek's second goal in as many games.

Admirals happy as pi with 4-3 win over IceHogs

ROCKFORD, Illinois -- Pontus Aberg scored two goals, including the winner in overtime, to lead the Milwaukee Admirals to a 4-3 win over the Rockford IceHogs Tuesday night at BMO Harris Bank Center.Aberg scored the game-winner with 10.8 seconds left in overtime.

Admirals blanked by Wolves, 4-0

Marek Mazanec turned aside 24 shots, including many in brilliant fashion, but the Admirals couldn't solve Chicago goalie Jordan Binnington and they dropped a 4-0 decision to the Wolves on Saturday night in Amtrak Rivalry action.After scoring 20 goals in their past five games combined, the Ads were shutout for the fourth time this season and the first since January 13.Milwaukee's power-play, which had been 8-for-32 in the past six games, was unable to get on the board in five tries against the Wolves.After a scoreless first period, the Wolves got on the board first with a power-play marker from Andrew Agozzino at 10:39 of the sandwich frame.Vince Dunn earned his 12th goal of the season with 6:39 to play in the game to put the Wolves up by a pair and then another power-play goal, this one from James Wisniewski at 18:00 of the third, pushed the Wolves lead to 3-0.Mackenzie MacEachem finished the scoring with an empty-netter with 1:04 to play.The Admirals take a trip to Rockford on Tuesday night before returning home to Panther Arena on Friday, March 17 at 7 pm to take on Iowa in the first half of a home-and-home set.Don’t forget to follow the Admirals on Twitter (@mkeadmirals) and like us on Facebook.

Mike Ribeiro's goal just eight seconds into overtime capped a 3-2 come-from-behind victory for the Admirals over the Manitoba Moose on Saturday night at Panther Arena.Ribeiro was literally the only player to control the puck in overtime.

Admirals post another comeback win: 5-4 vs. Charlotte Checkers at home

MILWAUKEE -- Freddy Gaudreau scored two goals, including the game-winner in overtime to lead the Admirals to another come-from-behind win over the Charlotte Checkers 5-4 on Sunday afternoon, February 19th at Panther Arena.The win was the second of the weekend over the Checkers and both games same Milwaukee fall behind in 3-1 hole before battling back for the win.For the third straight game the Ads gave up a goal on the game's first shift, this time its was Lucas Wallmark who lit the lamp just 21 seconds after puck drop.And just like the other two games, the Admirals got that goal back later in the first to level the score.

Admirals earn another comeback win, topping Checkers 6-3

MILWAUKEE -- Adorned in Slap Shot themed jerseys to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the movie, Vladislav Kamenev picked up his first career hat trick and the Admirals scored the final four goals of the game to take a 6-3 win over the Charlotte Checkers on Friday night at Panther Arena.Down by two in the second period, Justin Kirkland finished the Admirals comeback with his fifth goal of the year to earn the game-winner with just 1:53 left in the game.For the second straight game the Ads fell behind early, this time giving up a goal to Valentin Zykov just 1:21 into the game.However, just like the game before, it didn't take the Ads long to level the sccore as Kamenev converted on the power-play at the 8:38 mark of the opening frame.
