Foxconn schedules 5 hiring fairs in a month across Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE — Foxconn Technology Group says it will be holding five hiring fairs to recruit job candidates over the next month.The Taiwan-based electronics company is building a $10 billion manufacturing and research complex in Mount Pleasant and could employ as many as 13,000 people across Wisconsin.The first fair will be held in Mount Pleasant on Oct. 13, followed by events in Racine on Oct. 21, Green Bay on Oct. 24, Eau Claire on Oct. 27 and Milwaukee on Nov. 2.The company is seeking people to fill jobs in areas including human resources, software engineering, finance, accounting, graphics and interior design, construction management, and sales and marketing.

Illinois leaders call on Wisconsin officials to reconsider waiving environmental regulations for Foxconn

VERNON HILLS, Ill. — More local officials in northeastern Illinois are raising concerns about the enforcement of environmental regulations for the planned Foxconn manufacturing plant in neighboring Wisconsin.Several communities in Lake County along the Illinois-Wisconsin state line have joined county leaders in resolutions calling on Wisconsin officials to reconsider waiving environmental regulations for the Taiwanese company.The Lake County News-Sun reports Vernon Hills, Gurnee, Lincolnshire, Libertyville, Mundelein and the Lake County Municipal League already approved resolutions.

$42 million medical center planned near Foxconn complex

STURTEVANT — A Wisconsin health care organization says it'll build a $42 million medical center in Sturtevant as the region prepares for population growth generated by the planned Foxconn Technology Group manufacturing complex.Ascension Wisconsin plans to include primary and specialty care at the center, along with an imaging center, urgent care services, rehabilitation, occupational health and an ambulatory-surgery center.The organization also plans to hire 100 new employees.The site of the future center is about 2 miles (3 kilometers) from where Advocate Aurora Health plans to build a hospital, two clinics and a medical office building.Ascension says its medical center is the first of several planned projects in Racine County.Construction of the center is expected to begin at the end of the year with a planned opening in early 2020.

37 companies awarded contracts to build structure that'll serve as office space during Foxconn construction

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Foxconn Technology Group and its general contractor M+W | Gilbane announced Tuesday, July 24 a new set of more than three dozen companies who have been awarded contracts to help construct the "Multipurpose Building" at the Wisconn Valley Science and Technology Park campus in Mount Pleasant.All 37 of the companies have Wisconsin operations, according to a news release from Foxconn officials.According to that release, the "Multipurpose Building" is a 120,000 square feet facility and the first building being constructed on the Foxconn campus.
