Milwaukee mother arrested for allegedly driving drunk on I-43, striking semi-truck

MILWAUKEE -- A 37-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested after she was allegedly driving drunk on I-43 Thursday night, March 29.The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office says around 8:45 p.m., dispatch received a call about a possible drunk driver weaving across all lanes of traffic on I-43 southbound near Capitol Drive.

'Irresponsible:' Man arrested for OWI on I-43 with child, 10, in back seat; 9th incident this year

MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee man, 35, was arrested early Thursday morning, March 29, accused of driving drunk with a child, 10, in his vehicle, and it's the ninth time an incident like this has occurred this year.Governor Scott Walker signed a bill into law on Wednesday, March 28, permanently revoking driver's licenses of people convicted of four or more drunk driving-related offenses.The fourth offense must happen with 15 years of the previous conviction.Those who lose their licenses and are caught driving will face a $2,500 fine, and up to a year in jail.

Calendars show former sheriff David Clarke did little business in Milwaukee County in 2015-2016

MILWAUKEE -- Former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke spent a diminishing number of days doing business in the county as his national profile grew in 2015 and 2016, according to newly released calendars provided to FOX6 News through an open records request.The calendars indicate Clarke worked in the county on 26 percent of the days in 2015, and the percentage slipped to 20 percent over the first seven months of 2016.

Waukesha man arrested for 3rd OWI, accused of striking other vehicles with passenger, age 4

MILWAUKEE -- A Waukesha man, 36, is accused of driving drunk, striking other vehicles on I-41 northbound near Mayfair Rd., and sheriff's officials say he had a child, 4, in the back seat.It happened Tuesday, March 13 around 4:15 p.m.Milwaukee County sheriff's officials say they received several calls from motorists indicating they'd been struck by a black Toyota on I-41.

Deputies find children, 3, 8, alone in home infested with roaches, mice, rats, bedbugs

MILWAUKEE – Deputies serving court documents at a Milwaukee home discovered two young children, ages 3 and 8,  alone and wearing only T-shirts Monday morning, March 12 around 11 a.m.According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, the residence was infested with cockroaches, mice, rats and bedbugs, and had a strong odor of feces.Child Protective Services and additional detectives responded.A neighbor gave the children food while officials attempted to find the parents.The mother arrived at about 12:15 p.m., and, through an interpreter, said her four older children were in school, and she had left to run errands for a few hours.Child Protective Services took custody of the children, and contacted the schools of the older children to arrange to take them from school.A housing inspector was called to inspect the residence and assess the living conditions.The incident will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office for possible charges of child neglect.
