Milwaukee woman arrested for 3rd DUI had 8-year-old in lap, steering car

MILWAUKEE — Authorities say a 37-year-old Milwaukee woman arrested on suspicion of her third DUI had an eight-year-old boy on her lap steering the car.A Milwaukee County sheriff's deputy saw the car entering an on-ramp on Thursday afternoon, May 4th with a child seated on the driver's lap and steering the car.

Officials: Corrections captain resigns while being investigated during Thomas inquest

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office says Corrections Captain George Gold, one of the subjects being investigated during the inquest into the death of Terrill Thomas at the Milwaukee County Jail, resigned over the weekend.Gold provided the most damaging testimony against Major Nancy Evans, the jail's commander when Thomas died.

Federal lawsuit: Woman claims she was shackled during labor at Milwaukee County Jail

MILWAUKEE — A woman who was pregnant while detained at the Milwaukee County Jail alleges in a lawsuit against the sheriff that she was shackled while she was in labor.The federal lawsuit filed Tuesday, March 14th seeks class-action status, claiming at least 40 other women experienced similar circumstances at the jail since 2011.The lawsuit contends that 27-year-old Melissa Hall was shackled during her hospitalization for pre-natal care, labor, and post-partum treatment.

Sheriff Clarke accuses Milwaukee attorney of misconduct after lawsuit filed against him

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke has accused a local attorney of misconduct.Sheriff Clarke said Attorney William Sulton, who represents Dan Black in a lawsuit filed against Sheriff Clarke, Milwaukee County and six deputies leaked the lawsuit to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in an effort to get publicity.Black is suing, saying he was unlawfully detained by deputies at General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee after an interaction with Sheriff Clarke on a plane.In a post on Facebook, Sheriff Clarke said he'll file a complaint of misconduct and violation of attorney ethics with the State Bar of Wisconsin.FOX6 News reached out to Sulton, who issued the following statement:
